Update - Matthew Macklin to Face Geard Ajetovic on October 31st

Matthew Macklin's next opponent will be the 27 year old Serbian Geard Ajetovic, who he will face on October 31st in the Aston Villa Leisure Centre, Birmingham. Ajetovic, who fights out of Liverpool, was a world class amateur boxer and has boxed in the Olympics, world championships and european championships.He has a professional record of 16-03-01 with 8 KO's. In February of this year Ajetovic fought Francis Checka, beating him on points over 8 rounds. Macklin also faced Checka, winning on points over 10 rounds in September. Ajetovic is coming off two consecutive losses, one to the Australian Daniel Geale, who he fought in June for the IBO middleweight title, Ajetovic lost this on points. He then fought Dmitry Pirog who also beat him with a points decision. Despite this, Ajetovic is a strong puncher with a powerful left hook and should prove to be a tough opponent for Macklin.
